Chess is Sport
It is a tough SPORT, both physical and mental. It needs maximum concentration in an optimal environment of calm and alertness, away from pollution and noise. It demands great discipline, respecting time, the rules of the game, self-control, and respect for others. All must go into creating a congenial atmosphere of high-pitch and noble competition that trains the minds, the emotions and the nerves, exerting pressure on the player, who must remain in top physical and psychological condition.
Chess is Science
Strategy and tactics can be studied rationally; they follow scientific rules and laws, and are a very efficient training to think in a rational and systematic way, which usually becomes a habit, both in the game and in life.
Chess is Art
Creative and inventive, it needs as much imagination, intuition, and fantasy as it needs knowledge and technique. All this goes into offering chess players, young and adults, the joy of playing creatively in a very healthy atmosphere. It also strengthens their power of concentration, their psychic stamina, their will-power and emotional resistance, in addition to such skills as the various strategic and tactical options that are a great advantage in everyone’s work, business, and everyday life.
